Sibagat, Agusan del Norte – Authorities dismantled a drug den and arrested three suspected drug personalities during an anti-illegal drug operation in Poblacion, Sibagat, on the afternoon of December 9, 2024. The operation was a joint effort led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XIII Agusan del Sur Provincial Office and the Sibagat Municipal Police Station.

Confiscated Evidence

The operation resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 35,000. Along with the illegal drugs, authorities also recovered the marked buy-bust money, several drug paraphernalia, and the mobile phone allegedly used in coordinating illegal drug transactions.

Legal Actions

The suspects, whose identities have been withheld pending further investigation, are now detained at the PDEA RO XIII custodial facility. They face multiple charges for violating the provisions of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.

Authorities Urge Continued Public Support

The PDEA and the Sibagat Municipal Police Station reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-drug campaigns in the region. They also emphasized the critical role of public cooperation in reporting suspicious activities to help combat the illegal drug trade.
