MONKAYO, Davao de Oro — Anti-drug operatives dismantled an alleged drug den and arrested three individuals during a joint buy-bust operation in Barangay Union, Monkayo, Davao de Oro, on October 31, 2026, with authorities recovering suspected shabu estimated to be worth ₱121,600.

The operation was carried out at around 3:35 p.m. in Purok Duranta by personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO11), through its Davao de Oro Provincial Office, in coordination with the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office and the Monkayo Municipal Police Station.
Authorities said the operation led to the discovery of an alleged drug den operating in the area.
Among those arrested was a 28-year-old man identified by authorities only as alias “Mar-Mar,” who was described as the alleged maintainer of the drug den. Investigators said the suspect allegedly sold one package of suspected shabu valued at ₱6,000 to a PDEA operative acting as a poseur-buyer.
Also arrested were alias “Ian,” who was identified by authorities as an alleged employee of the drug den, and alias “Dodong,” who was reportedly present at the location as a visitor when the operation was conducted.
During the follow-up search, authorities recovered five additional sachets containing substances believed to be shabu, with an estimated weight of 17 grams and an alleged street value of ₱115,600.
Assorted drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the buy-bust operation were also recovered, according to authorities.
The seized suspected illegal drugs, together with the other evidence, will be subjected to the required forensic examination and proper evidentiary procedures.
The three suspects are expected to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation forms part of continuing efforts by PDEA and local law enforcement agencies to identify and dismantle alleged drug distribution and use sites in communities across Davao de Oro.
Authorities emphasized that the filing of criminal charges remains subject to the completion of the investigation and the appropriate legal proceedings.
