LEBAK, Sultan Kudarat — A 40-year-old man was killed after being repeatedly shot by still unidentified assailants in Purok Lansones 1, Barangay Salaman, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat on Saturday evening, June 6, 2026.
The victim was identified by the Lebak Municipal Police Station as Rocky Blanco Tee, 40, a resident of Old Market, Barangay Poblacion, Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat.
According to the initial police investigation, the incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. while Tee was riding his Yamaha NMAX motorcycle along the area. Authorities said the victim was suddenly approached and fired upon multiple times by unidentified gunmen.
Tee sustained several gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, resulting in his instantaneous death at the scene.
Following the attack, the suspects immediately fled toward an undetermined direction, prompting authorities to launch a hot pursuit operation and establish checkpoints in nearby areas to track down and arrest those responsible.
Crime scene investigators recovered several pieces of evidence from the area, including eight spent shell casings and two live rounds believed to be from a caliber .45 pistol. Also found at the scene was the victim’s black-and-gray NMAX 155 motorcycle, which reportedly had no license plate.
Authorities likewise recovered from the victim’s possession a red plastic container containing a heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu, a tooter commonly used for illegal drug consumption, and a Tecno cellular phone.
The discovery of suspected illegal drugs among the victim’s belongings has become one of the angles being considered by investigators as they work to establish the motive behind the fatal shooting.
Police have yet to identify the suspects or determine whether the killing was related to personal grudges, criminal activities, or other possible motives.
The Lebak Municipal Police Station continues its intensive investigation and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the perpetrators behind the brazen attack.
Authorities are also appealing to the public to provide any information that may help solve the case and bring the gunmen to justice.
The killing adds to the growing concern over gun-related violence in parts of Sultan Kudarat, as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to maintain peace and order in the province.
