Authorities arrested a High-Value Individual (HVI) and confiscated illegal drugs, including marijuana plants, shabu, and suspected cocaine, during a joint anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Del Carmen, Iligan City, on Friday afternoon, May 22, 2026.

The operation was carried out at around 1:51 p.m. in Zone 1A, Barangay Del Carmen by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) and Intelligence Unit of the Iligan City Police Station 1 (ICPS1), led by Police Major Rodulfo B. Authorities said all confiscated evidence was properly marked, inventoried, and documented on-site in accordance with existing operational procedures and legal protocols.

The arrested suspect was taken into the custody of ICPO-PS1 for proper disposition while authorities prepare charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police said the successful operation underscores the strengthened coordination between law enforcement agencies in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in Iligan City and nearby areas.

ICPS1 reiterated its commitment to intensify anti-drug operations as part of ongoing efforts to preserve peace and order and protect communities from the harmful effects of illegal narcotics.
