ILIGAN CITY — Four individuals, most of them identified as sikad drivers, were arrested after allegedly being caught engaging in a pot session during an anti-drug operation in Barangay Saray, Iligan City on Saturday afternoon, May 10, 2026.

The suspects were identified only through their aliases as “Noel,” 34; “Carlos Jr.,” 48; “Alfunso,” 48; and “Marilou,” 53. Authorities said the arrested individuals are residents of different barangays in Iligan City, with most of them reportedly working as sikad drivers.
According to the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO), the operation was carried out at around 5:20 p.m. by intelligence operatives from Police Station 5 after they received information from a concerned citizen regarding the alleged illegal drug activity in the area.
Upon arrival at the target location, operatives reportedly caught the suspects in the act of using suspected shabu.
Recovered during the operation were sachets containing suspected shabu and several pieces of alleged drug paraphernalia, including a pair of scissors, an improvised foil strip with residue, two disposable lighters fitted with foil needles, and three improvised foil tooters believed to have been used for inhaling illegal drugs.
The arrested individuals are currently under the custody of Police Station 5 while authorities prepare charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations in an effort to maintain peace, order, and public safety in Iligan City.
Investigators are also conducting further verification to determine whether the suspects are part of a larger illegal drug network operating in the area.
