Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines — Authorities have finally arrested two suspects linked to a kidnapping case dating back to 2003, marking a significant breakthrough in the long-running pursuit of justice in the province.

The arrests were carried out as part of intensified operations against fugitives by the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSBPPO), under the leadership of Police Colonel Danie Dasugo. The suspects were apprehended in separate intelligence-driven operations conducted in different municipalities.

One of the suspects was captured by operatives of the Olutanga Municipal Police Station during an operation in Barangay Solar, in the municipality of Olutanga. The individual, a resident of Alicia, was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the court on June 2, 2006, for kidnapping.

In a separate operation, personnel from the Payao Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company and the 903rd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-9, arrested another suspect in Barangay Kulasian, Payao. The second suspect, also a resident of Alicia, was likewise apprehended on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued on the same date for the same offense.

Both suspects are now under the custody of the Olutanga and Payao Municipal Police Stations, respectively, where they are being held pending proper legal disposition and the filing of appropriate charges.

Police officials emphasized that the arrests underscore the continuing commitment of law enforcement agencies to track down individuals evading justice, regardless of how long it takes. Authorities reiterated that no case is ever forgotten, especially those involving grave crimes such as kidnapping, and vowed to sustain operations targeting wanted persons across the province.
