A man was shot dead in a fresh incident of gun violence that has alarmed residents in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, as authorities continue to grapple with unresolved cases of killings in the area.

The victim was identified as Jemar Timpolok, a Moro resident of the municipality. He died instantly after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds when unidentified assailants approached him and repeatedly fired at him using a pistol.
Initial reports from barangay officials and investigators from the Buluan Municipal Police Station revealed that the attack occurred along Bangladesh Street in Buluan. Witnesses said the suspects quickly fled the scene after the shooting, leaving Timpolok sprawled face down on the ground, already lifeless.
Police responders who arrived at the scene confirmed the victim’s identity and conducted an initial investigation. However, as of this writing, authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the killing.
Investigators are also still working to identify the perpetrators, who remain at large. Law enforcement officials have launched a follow-up operation and are gathering testimonies from possible witnesses to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the attack.
