GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A 38-year-old man was shot dead by an unidentified gunman while cleaning his motorcycle at a car wash area in Purok Nopol, Barangay Conel on Tuesday morning, March 10.

The victim was identified by authorities as Mark Louie Majaducon, 38, a resident of the same community.
Initial police investigation revealed that the victim was washing his motorcycle at around 9:40 a.m. when an unidentified suspect suddenly approached and opened fire.
Majaducon sustained a gunshot wound to the head, which caused his immediate death.
According to Police Captain Ian Bagot, chief of the Mabuhay Police Station, the victim was in the middle of cleaning his motorcycle when the assailant arrived and shot him at close range.
“The suspect suddenly approached the victim and fired at him while he was cleaning his motorcycle,” Bagot said, citing initial reports gathered by investigators.
Witnesses said the gunman quickly fled the scene immediately after the attack and escaped toward an undetermined direction, triggering a manhunt by responding police officers.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital following the shooting but was declared dead on arrival by attending medical personnel.
Authorities said investigators have already obtained information pointing to a possible motive behind the killing, but Bagot declined to disclose further details while the investigation is ongoing.
Police are currently reviewing witness statements and pursuing leads to identify and locate the suspect responsible for the shooting.
The incident adds to a string of recent daylight shooting incidents reported in parts of General Santos City, prompting authorities to intensify security operations and patrols in the area.
Anyone with information related to the crime is urged to coordinate with local police to aid in the ongoing investigation.
