LUUK, SULU — A hacking suspect was arrested following a coordinated law enforcement operation in Barangay Mananti, Luuk, Sulu, on the evening of January 24, 2026.

The joint operation involved troops from the 101st Infantry “Sajahitra” Battalion (101IB), personnel from the Luuk Municipal Police Station (MPS), and barangay officials. It was launched around 8:00 PM after Barangay Chairwoman Hon. Arnaisa Mukarim reported a hacking incident at Sitio Kapaya.

The suspect, identified as Aljubir Tali, 34, was successfully apprehended by a pursuit team led by 2Lt. Jayvee B. Gacula of the 101IB, with support from PLT Vincent Ibasco and Luuk MPS personnel. Tali has been turned over to the Luuk MPS for proper disposition, while authorities continue investigating a possible drug-related motive.

The victim, Hussin Maddan, 28, sustained an injury to his lower right ear and is currently recovering at Luuk District Hospital.

Lt. Col. Dante E. Mantes, Commanding Officer of the 101IB, emphasized the crucial role of inter-agency coordination and community cooperation, noting that timely information sharing enabled the swift arrest.

Brig. Gen. Alaric Avelino P. Delos Santos, Commander of the 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade, praised the Army–PNP–LGU collaboration, while Maj. Gen. Leonardo I. Peña, Commander of Joint Task Force Orion and the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division, commended the professionalism and lawful conduct of all units involved.

The operation highlights the continued partnership between the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and local government units in maintaining peace, order, and public safety in Luuk and neighboring communities.
