PAGADIAN CITY — A man was killed in a shooting incident late Friday night, January 2, 2026, at Sitio Nazareth, Barangay Buenavista, prompting a hot pursuit operation by local police authorities.
The victim was identified only by his alias “Bakbak,” an adult male and a resident of the area. According to initial police investigation, the victim was in the vicinity when he was suddenly shot by an unidentified gunman using an as-yet undetermined firearm.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene, where he was found lying in a pool of his own blood. The suspect immediately fled after the shooting, escaping toward an unknown direction.
