Davao City – A 31-year-old online seller was arrested on Wednesday afternoon for selling sparklers to minors in violation of Davao City’s firecracker ban.
Authorities from Talomo Police Station 3 apprehended the suspect, identified only as “Ara,” a resident of Purok 4, Ilang-ilang Street, Barangay Ula, Davao City, around 5:55 p.m. on December 31, 2025, at the Corner of Kalatungan Alley, NHA Main Road, Barangay Talomo Proper.
Police reports indicate that the operation occurred during a routine patrol when officers noticed minors scattering after purchasing sparklers from the suspect. Ara was caught in the act, and authorities recovered a significant quantity of illegal firecrackers from the scene.
The Davao City Police Office reiterated its strict enforcement of the city’s firecracker ban, warning that violators will face arrest and prosecution.
Ara is set to spend the New Year in jail and will face formal charges filed by the prosecutor’s office on January 3, 2026.
