DAVAO DEL NORTE — The Davao del Norte Provincial Police Office (DNPPO) tightened security and internal discipline measures on Tuesday, December 31, as it conducted a full accounting of its personnel and a comprehensive inspection of issued firearms to ensure a safe and peaceful New Year celebration.

Provincial Director PCOL Glenn G. Cristines personally led the personnel accounting and the showdown inspection of firearms, in strict compliance with the directive of the Regional Logistics and Research Development Division (RLRDD), Police Regional Office 11 (PRO11).

The operation is part of the headquarters’ reinforced enforcement of the HHQ One-Strike Policy against indiscriminate firing — a recurring public safety concern during New Year festivities.

Firearms stenciling and detailed inspection of all DNPPO personnel are underway to guarantee accountability, operational readiness, and secure firearm handling throughout the holiday season.

DNPPO remains professional, disciplined, and fully prepared to safeguard our communities. We assure the public of our commitment to the law as we work together for a peaceful and Happy New Year celebration,” PCOL Cristines said in his message.

Authorities continue to urge the public to stay vigilant and report any illegal or dangerous acts, including stray gun incidents, to help ensure a safe welcome to 2026.
