Digos City, Davao del Sur — A priest at St. John Paul II College Seminary in Digos City fell victim to a burglary on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, resulting in the loss of a significant amount of cash and personal belongings.
According to Rev. Fr. Jonn Flor Mangrobang, DCD, an unidentified individual entered the seminary premises, gaining access to his office. The perpetrator took a cash box containing church funds, personal savings from the priest’s piggy bank, and a new pair of shoes. Additional money stored in a bag inside the priest’s vehicle, as well as coins intended for bill payments, were also stolen.
The incident was immediately reported to the police, and the seminary called on the local Catholic community and the public to pray for the safety and protection of all while authorities continue their investigation to identify those responsible. Seminary officials have warned of the breach and urged heightened vigilance to prevent similar incidents in the future.
