CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Two alleged repeat offenders were arrested after police operatives seized an estimated ₱374,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Canitoan on December 1, 2025.
Personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU 10) launched the sting operation that resulted in the arrest of alias “Yan,” 45, married, a taxi driver, and a resident of the area; and alias “Ren,” 35, single, a nurse from Brgy. Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. Police said the two are related and both are second-time violators of Republic Act 9165.
Confiscated from the suspects were six heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 55 grams, with a Standard Drug Price estimate of ₱374,000. Also seized were a large transparent plastic cellophane allegedly used as a container and a ₱1,000 bill used as the buy-bust money.
The suspects are now detained at the Maharlika Detention Cell as authorities finalize charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165. Additional charges for violation of Section 5 are also being readied against “Ren.”
Police confirmed that all seized items were properly inventoried and will be submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for quantitative and qualitative examination.
PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano, Regional Director of PRO10, lauded the operating units for their continued commitment to the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign, emphasizing that the operation reflects the region’s firm stance against drug offenders—even repeat ones.
