Polomolok, South Cotabato — Two police personnel assigned to the Polomolok Municipal Police Station (MPS) were arrested by the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) for alleged involvement in extortion and irregularities in processing National Police Clearances.

The entrapment operation, conducted by Team 12 of the Mindanao Field Unit (MFU) under the direct supervision of the Chief of IMEG MFU, took place at approximately 2:32 PM on October 23, 2025. Both suspects were designated processors of the National Police Clearance System (NPCS) at Polomolok MPS, PPO, PRO 12.

During the operation, authorities recovered several pieces of evidence, including:

  • One issued National Police Clearance;
  • One Php 500 bill marked “WJC” (Serial No. AQ434661);
  • One PNP-issued ID card;
  • One Glock 17 Gen 4 firearm (Serial No. PNP 72998) with magazine;
  • Thirteen 9mm live ammunition rounds;
  • Php 2,920 in cash from the consummated illegal transactions (comprising various denominations);
  • Two Acer desktop computers with monitors (version X421185 series).

Following their arrest, one suspect was released on bail on October 28, 2025, after posting a total bail of Php 105,000, while the second suspect posted the same bail amount and was released on October 29, 2025, according to Polomolok MPS blotter entries.

PBGEN Bonard D. Briton, Director of PNP-IMEG, lauded the operating team for their swift action and reiterated the group’s commitment to combating corruption within the police force.

“This operation demonstrates IMEG’s commitment to enforce internal discipline and restore the public’s trust in the police service. We will not hesitate to arrest any member of the organization who takes advantage of their position to exploit our citizens. Public service must always be anchored on integrity,” PBGEN Briton said.

The arrest underscores the PNP-IMEG’s ongoing campaign to eliminate abuse of authority and maintain transparency in police operations, particularly in the processing of National Police Clearances.
