October 1, 2025 — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring a Low Pressure Area (LPA) spotted 1,080 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon as of 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 1. The weather bureau said the weather system, combined with prevailing easterlies, will continue to influence conditions over Mindanao within the next 24 hours.
According to PAGASA’s Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD), Northern Mindanao and the Caraga region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Residents are advised to remain alert as heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides, especially in flood-prone and mountainous areas.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also brought by the easterlies. Winds will be light to moderate coming from the southeast, with coastal waters across the region expected to remain slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

Public Advisory
PAGASA warns the public that localized thunderstorms may bring sudden heavy rainfall, strong winds, and lightning. The agency urges residents, particularly in areas identified as high-risk for flooding and landslides, to take precautionary measures and remain vigilant. Fisherfolk and small sea craft are also advised to monitor updates as sea conditions, though slight to moderate, may become risky during thunderstorms.
