Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day as Easterlies continue to affect the region, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported in its 5:00 AM regional weather forecast on Tuesday.
According to PAGASA, localized thunderstorms may bring heavy rains in certain areas, posing risks of flash floods or landslides. Residents in vulnerable communities are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Winds across Mindanao will generally be light to moderate from the southeast, with coastal waters expected to be slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.
Regional Outlook
- Zamboanga Peninsula: Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City can expect partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with chances of rainshowers or thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 22°C to 32°C.
- Northern Mindanao: Provinces including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will also experience the same weather pattern. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range from 19°C in the highlands of Bukidnon to 32°C in lowland and coastal areas.
- Davao Region: Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms. Temperatures will vary from 22°C to 32°C, with coastal conditions slight to moderate.
- SOCCSKSARGEN: North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani are expected to experience the same partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging between 22°C and 32°C.
- Caraga Region: Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and the Dinagat Islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. Agusan del Norte may record the highest temperature at 34°C.
- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM): Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Cotabato City, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur will also see partly cloudy skies with possible thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from a cooler 21°C in Lanao del Sur to as high as 33°C in Maguindanao del Sur.
Public Advisory
PAGASA advised residents and local disaster risk reduction councils to monitor weather updates and prepare for sudden heavy downpours, especially in flood- and landslide-prone areas. Fisherfolk and small seacraft operators are encouraged to remain cautious due to slight to moderate sea conditions.
