POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato – Police authorities in SOCCSKSARGEN scored another major victory in the campaign against illegal drugs with the arrest of a high-value target and the seizure of over ₱3.7 million worth of suspected shabu during an intelligence-driven operation in Polomolok on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
Operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 12, led by PMAJ Dave B. Abarra, launched the buy-bust operation in coordination with the Polomolok Municipal Police Station, South Cotabato Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Division 12, Regional Intelligence Unit 12, PDEG SOU12, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 12. The operation took place along the national highway in front of Silway 8 Elementary School, Purok Maligaya, Barangay Silway 8.
Arrested was Alvin Lilam Manansala, 48, also known as alias “Jimuel,” a resident of Guevarra Subdivision, Purok Malakas, Barangay San Isidro, General Santos City. Police tagged him as a High-Value Individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade, reportedly maintaining links with accomplices in Polomolok, Tupi, and Banga, South Cotabato.
Seized from his possession were 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 550 grams, with a standard drug price value of ₱3,740,000.00, an android phone, a wallet containing assorted identification cards, and the buy-bust money.
Authorities said Manansala offered no resistance during his arrest. He is now detained at a police facility and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) Regional Director PBGEN Romeo J. Macapaz commended the operating units for their dedication, stressing the need for sustained intelligence-based operations to dismantle drug networks in the region.
“This successful operation sends a strong message that we will not allow drug traffickers to thrive in our communities. PRO 12, together with our partner agencies, remains steadfast in protecting the people of SOCCSKSARGEN from the dangers of illegal drugs,” Macapaz said in a statement.
