Polomolok, South Cotabato — Authorities arrested a High-Value Individual (HVI) and seized ₱374,000 worth of suspected shabu during an anti-illegal drug operation in Purok Demaklid, Barangay Cannery, Polomolok on April 26, 2025.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 12 (RPDEU 12), led by PMAJ Dave B. Abarra, Acting Chief, carried out the successful buy-bust operation in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division 12, Philippine Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit 12 (PDEG-SOU12), Polomolok Municipal Police Station, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 12 (PDEA 12).

The suspect, known by the alias “James,” a 39-year-old resident of Purok 15, Barangay Apopong, General Santos City, was identified as a High-Value Individual on the regional drug watchlist.

Authorities recovered seven sachets of suspected shabu from the suspect, weighing approximately 55 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱374,000 based on the National Standard Drug Price.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Polomolok Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. Meanwhile, the confiscated drug evidence has been turned over to the investigator-on-case and is undergoing forensic examination at the Provincial Forensic Unit in South Cotabato.

“The successful apprehension of a High-Value Individual and the seizure of ₱374,000 worth of illegal drugs demonstrate the commitment of Police Regional Office 12 in our intensified campaign against illegal drug activities. We remain steadfast in our efforts to identify and apprehend drug personalities to ensure the safety and well-being of the communities we serve,” said PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12.

Authorities continue to intensify operations to curb the spread of illegal drugs in the region.
