GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Two individuals were arrested and nearly ₱200,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in a joint anti-drug operation late Monday night, August 11, 2025.
At around 11:40 p.m., combined forces of Police Station 7, CMFC/SWAT, the 1201st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–SOCSKSARGEN, and the General Santos City MARPSTA served a search warrant in Barangay Fatima. The warrant, issued by Judge Dennis A. Velasco of RTC Branch 23, targeted alias “Edi,” 50, who was arrested along with his stepson, alias “Amir,” 31, a canning factory worker.
Authorities recovered seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a total of 29.1 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱197,880, from “Edi.” Drug paraphernalia including disposable lighters, aluminum foils, an empty sachet with suspected residue, and a tooter were also seized. From “Amir,” police found disposable lighters, used aluminum foil, and an empty sachet with suspected shabu residue.
The suspects and evidence are now under the custody of Police Station 7 for documentation and the filing of charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PBGEN Romeo Juan Macapaz, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 12, commended the swift coordination of the operating units. “We will continue to pursue and apprehend those who persist in this criminal trade, ensuring that justice is served and our people are protected,” he said.
