GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A drug suspect was arrested in a successful anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by joint police forces in Barangay Fatima in the early hours of July 24, 2025.
The operation, carried out at around 12:36 AM, was implemented by operatives of Police Station 7, SWAT/City Mobile Force Company, and the City Intelligence Unit of the General Santos City Police Office. They were joined by the Tactical Support Company and 1201st Mobile Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 12, as well as the General Santos Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA).
Armed with Search Warrant No. 25-141 issued by Hon. Judge Dennis A. Velasco of RTC Branch 23, authorities targeted a 31-year-old male suspect known by the alias “Ton-Ton,” a married resident of Barangay Fatima. The warrant was issued for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Recovered from the suspect’s residence were five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing approximately 14.6 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱99,280. Also confiscated were drug paraphernalia, including three pieces of aluminum foil, a green lighter, and a plastic sachet containing toothpicks.
The suspect and the seized items were taken to Police Station 7 for proper documentation and legal proceedings.
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 12, commended the seamless coordination of all units involved. “We will not let up in our campaign against illegal drugs. This accomplishment shows the dedication of our personnel in protecting the public from the dangers of drug abuse and criminality,” he said.
Authorities reiterated that the operation is part of the Philippine National Police’s sustained efforts to rid communities of illegal drugs and ensure public safety across the region.
