Davao City – A 19-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday night, July 16, 2025, after allegedly robbing a taxi driver at knifepoint along San Gabriel Street in Dumanlas, Barangay Buhangin, Davao City.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Jaysa” or “Aisa,” a resident of Barangay Marapangi, Toril District, reportedly boarded a taxi driven by alias “Gerry” or “Gido,” 45, of Bucana, at the Toril Terminal and asked to be taken to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Bajada.

However, upon reaching Dumanlas around 9:20 p.m., the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and declared a hold-up, threatening the driver by pressing the weapon against his waist. Quick to react, the driver bravely grabbed the woman’s hand to prevent the assault and called for help from nearby pedestrians.
