DAVAO CITY – A man was held at gunpoint and robbed by riding-in-tandem suspects while he was about to retrieve a parcel for a co-worker in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City on Thursday morning, July 10.
According to a report from Buhangin Police Station 5, the victim, identified only as alias Ralph, 32 years old and a resident of the area, had just arrived in Zone 3, San Antonio, to pick up a package from the home of his co-worker. As he was about to mount his motorcycle at around 11:45 AM, a man wearing a black jacket and black shorts suddenly approached him and pointed a suspected .45 caliber pistol at his abdomen.
The armed suspect forcibly took Ralph’s sling bag, which contained approximately ₱6,500 in cash, a cellphone worth ₱24,000, and an additional ₱1,800 stored in his GCash account. The suspect then boarded a waiting motorcycle driven by an accomplice, and the two fled toward Barangay Angliongto.
The victim was unharmed but left shaken and unable to resist due to the weapon pointed at him. Police immediately launched a hot pursuit operation and are now reviewing several CCTV footages from the area to trace the suspects’ route and identity.
Authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or vehicles, especially unmarked motorcycles, to prevent similar incidents.
