Iligan City, Lanao del Norte — Authorities arrested two drug suspects in separate anti-drug operations conducted by the Iligan City Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 10 on June 29 and 30, 2025, as part of the city’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.


In Barangay Poblacion, operatives of Iligan City Police Station 4 and PDEA 10 apprehended the Top 9 Regional Priority Target, identified as alias “Jimboy,” 35, a resident of Zone 1. According to Police Colonel Jerry A. Tambis, City Director of the Iligan City Police Office, the suspect was arrested during a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of approximately 10 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php68,000, along with a marked Php200 bill used as buy-bust money and various drug paraphernalia.
A day later, in a separate operation in Purok 3, Barangay Saray, Iligan City Police Station 5 arrested another suspect identified as alias “JL,” 29, an unemployed local resident tagged as a Street Level Individual (SLI). Police Major Neil Mark Quipanes, station commander, reported the confiscation of 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 3.06 grams, with an estimated street value of Php20,808, as well as an empty plastic sachet.
Both suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The successful operations underscore the unrelenting efforts of the Iligan City Police in curbing the spread of illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and peace of local communities.
