Davao City, Philippines — The City Government of Davao, in collaboration with the Interfacing Development Initiatives Inc. (IDIS) and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), is now accepting applications for the 2025 Lunhaw Awards—an annual recognition program that honors outstanding environmental efforts across the city.
Now on its latest run, the Lunhaw Awards continue to seek out individuals and groups whose sustainable practices are helping build a greener and more resilient Davao. Open to schools, student organizations, community-based groups, private businesses, and even past awardees (except under the Lunhaw category), the competition highlights a wide spectrum of green initiatives that must be in operation for at least two years to qualify.
“This is more than just an award—it’s a movement that inspires replication of green efforts throughout the city,” emphasized Judy Ann Legaspi, Watershed Network Coordinator of IDIS, during the I-Speak Media forum on Thursday. She noted that the awards aim to amplify the visibility of impactful, homegrown initiatives and help communities learn from each other’s environmental success stories.
