Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur — In a successful joint operation aimed at curbing criminal activity in the province, three male suspects were apprehended at a routine checkpoint along the National Highway in Barangay Poblacion II, Shariff Aguak.
Identified by their aliases—Habie, Merhamin, and Haimen—the suspects were intercepted by personnel of the Bravo Company of the 90th Infantry Battalion (90IB) in coordination with local police units. The checkpoint was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen peace and security measures in Maguindanao del Sur.
Authorities recovered ten heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated 0.370 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, with a street value of around Php 2,400. In addition, a 9mm Parabellum pistol loaded with ten live rounds was found in their possession.
The suspects now face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. They are currently detained at the Shariff Aguak Municipal Police Station, and formal complaints have been filed before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.

Paloma, Acting Provincial Director of the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, lauded the operation, highlighting the importance of continuous collaboration between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in ensuring public safety and security.
