KORONADAL CITY – June 9, 2025 — The City Government of Koronadal successfully conducted a public hearing on the proposed Tourism Code, gathering various stakeholders to discuss and contribute to the formulation of the ordinance aimed at boosting local tourism.
Held at the city hall lobby, the event was led by Hon. Antonio S. Abing, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Tourism and Development. He was joined by Vice Chairperson Hon. John Rey P. Rodriguez, Councilor Ellen Grace Subere-Albios, City Tourism Officer Elric Batilaran, Department of Tourism-XII Chief Operations Officer Rodel Hilado, and members of the City Tourism Council.
Representatives from the tourism sector, transport groups, business community, and other concerned stakeholders actively participated in the hearing.
The proposed ordinance was formally presented during the session, followed by an open forum where attendees were given the opportunity to raise questions, which were addressed one by one by the panelists.
Councilor Albios encouraged the public to submit their suggestions and recommendations to help enrich the content of the proposed Tourism Code, which will undergo further deliberation in the city council’s upcoming sessions.
