DAVAO CITY – Authorities seized an estimated ₱23 million worth of illegal drugs, including shabu and high-grade marijuana or “kush,” during an early morning operation on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at a suspected drug syndicate’s stock house in Emily Homes, Cabantian.

The joint operation, led by agents from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Region XI, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI, and the Davao City Police Office, was launched around 5 a.m. following a tip-off from an informant who also served as caretaker of the rented house.

According to NBI XI Director Atty. Arcelito “Archie” Albao, the informant initially approached their office with the help of a lawyer. He claimed the house emitted a strong, suspicious odor and showed signs of illegal drug activity. The informant also revealed that the suspects allegedly used food delivery work as a cover for their operations.

“We entered the premises early this morning. The result was positive. We recovered a significant quantity of illegal drugs—around 1.5 kilograms of shabu valued at ₱17 million, and 4 to 5 kilograms of kush, estimated at ₱5 to ₱6 million,” Albao confirmed.

Albao added that while no arrests were made during the raid, authorities were able to recover various drug paraphernalia, and the suspects have already been identified.

The operation is part of the government’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs and highlights the growing concern over the use of residential areas as drug storage facilities. Investigations and follow-up operations are now underway to apprehend the individuals behind the operation.
