Jabonga, Agusan del Norte – June 5, 2025 – A joint anti-illegal drug operation led by the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO) and Jabonga Municipal Police Station (MPS) resulted in the arrest of a suspected high value individual and the confiscation of suspected shabu in Barangay Magsaysay, Jabonga.

The operation, carried out by the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of ADNPPO and Jabonga MPS, was conducted through the implementation of a search warrant in Purok 1. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 13 also participated in the coordinated effort.

Police Colonel April Mark C. Young, Provincial Director of ADNPPO, identified the arrested suspect as a 56-year-old male farmer, known by the alias “Ramel.” The suspect, a widower and resident of the same barangay, has been categorized as a High Value Individual in the illegal drug trade.

Authorities recovered an undisclosed quantity of suspected shabu during the operation. The suspect was read his rights in a language he understood and is currently detained at the Jabonga MPS for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Representatives from the Department of Justice, local media, and barangay officials witnessed the conduct of the operation to ensure transparency and adherence to due process.

“Illegal drugs not only violate the law but also carry severe penalties, including imprisonment. This successful operation is proof of the continued dedication and relentless efforts of the Agusan del Norte police force to respond to the Chief PNP’s call to intensify police presence towards a safer and more peaceful community,” PCOL Young said.

Authorities emphasized that their campaign against illegal drugs remains a top priority, with similar operations expected to continue across the province.
