Camp Col Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City — Authorities in the Caraga region arrested 30 individuals and seized more than P666,000 worth of suspected shabu in a series of anti-drug operations conducted from April 19 to 25, according to the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO13).
The week-long campaign against illegal drugs netted a total of 97.97 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P666,196.00.
In the provinces of Agusan, police operatives apprehended 11 suspects and confiscated 11.43 grams of suspected shabu valued at P77,724.00. In Surigao provinces, 10 drug suspects were caught, yielding 15.95 grams with an SDP of P108,460.00.
Meanwhile, five individuals were arrested in Butuan City, where authorities recovered 35.59 grams of shabu worth P242,012.00.
A separate buy-bust operation conducted by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 13 led to the arrest of four more suspects and the seizure of 35 grams of shabu, with an estimated value of P238,000.00.
All arrested individuals face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“These figures display our collective efforts to eradicate the scourge of illegal drugs in our communities. I also urge the public to be our steadfast partners in protecting our families from the dangers these dangerous drugs bring,” said Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, PRO13 director.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining anti-drug operations across the region as part of the government’s broader campaign against illegal drugs.
