ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat — A joint police operation led to the arrest of a suspected high-value drug personality and the seizure of illegal drugs and an improvised firearm during a search in Barangay Kalawag 2 on Tuesday, April 16.
Law enforcement personnel from the Isulan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), and the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office (SKPPO), along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), served two search warrants against the suspect, alias “Allan,” 44, at his residence in Purok PC.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of six sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised UZI pistol, a steel magazine, five live rounds of caliber 9mm ammunition, and a black pouch.
The suspect, along with the seized items, was brought to the Isulan Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition. Authorities are preparing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 12, emphasized the significance of the operation, especially amid the election season.
“We remain steadfast in our mission to dismantle drug networks and ensure that firearms are not in the hands of those who threaten peace and security in SOCCSKSARGEN, especially now that we are in the middle of a sensitive election period,” Ardiente said.
The police assured the public of their continued commitment to combating illegal drugs and loose firearms as part of their efforts to maintain order and public safety in the region.
