ISULAN, SULTAN KUDARAT — Two men allegedly affiliated with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) were arrested after authorities intercepted them in a drug buy-bust operation early Wednesday, December 3, at the public cemetery in Purok Adarna, Barangay Sampao.

The joint operation, led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XII (PDEA RO-12) and the Isulan Municipal Police Station, resulted in the capture of alias “Datu Rex,” 35, a resident of Lapok, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Norte, and alias “Caloy,” 30, a resident of Barangay Kalawag III, Isulan.

Recovered from the suspects were 35 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱238,000, along with marked money, a smartphone, a motorcycle with plate number 120106, drug paraphernalia, and an MILF identification card believed to be owned by one of the suspects.

Authorities said the pair allegedly sold shabu to an undercover agent at the cemetery before they were immediately apprehended.

The suspects will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA-12 emphasized that operations will continue to target drug groups and individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, regardless of affiliation.
