GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Two alleged drug personalities were arrested while more than ₱510,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated during a successful anti-illegal drug operation conducted by joint law enforcement operatives in Barangay Bula, General Santos City, on the evening of June 29, 2026.

Authorities said the arrests stemmed from a buy-bust operation carried out by joint anti-illegal drug units as part of the intensified campaign against the illegal drug trade in the city.
Recovered from the possession and control of the two suspects were six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 75 grams of suspected shabu. Based on the government’s Standard Drug Price, the confiscated illegal drugs have an estimated street value of ₱510,000.
The identities of the suspects were withheld pending the filing of formal charges.
Following the operation, the arrested individuals were taken to Police Station 6 of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) for proper documentation, booking, and custodial procedures.
Meanwhile, the confiscated drug evidence was turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 12 for laboratory examination and proper disposition in accordance with established procedures to preserve the integrity of the evidence for court proceedings.
Police said the suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with the necessary complaints now being prepared for filing before the appropriate prosecutor’s office.
The operation underscores the continuing anti-drug campaign of the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) aimed at dismantling illegal drug networks operating across the region.
PBGen. Alan B. Manibog, Acting Regional Director of PRO-12, commended the operating teams for the successful operation and reaffirmed the police’s unwavering commitment to combating illegal drugs.
“We will not stop our campaign against illegal drugs. We will continue to intensify our operations to protect our communities and ensure that those who violate the law are held accountable for their actions. This success is the result of the collective efforts of our police force and the support of our citizens,” Manibog said.
PRO-12 also encouraged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement authorities by reporting illegal drug activities, stressing that community participation remains a vital component in sustaining the government’s campaign against narcotics and maintaining peace and order throughout the region.
