DAVAO CITY – Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested while approximately ₱1.3 million worth of suspected dried marijuana leaves were confiscated during a high-impact anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) on Wednesday afternoon, July 15.

The operation was spearheaded by Police Station 15 (Ecoland) under the leadership of Police Major Rosario T. Aguilar, Station Commander, and was carried out at around 3:20 p.m.

Authorities said the successful operation resulted in the swift arrest of two suspects believed to be involved in the illegal drug trade. Recovered from their possession were suspected dried marijuana leaves with an estimated street value of ₱1.3 million.

The identities of the arrested individuals have not yet been disclosed pending the filing of appropriate charges and further investigation.

The confiscated illegal drugs will undergo proper documentation and laboratory examination as part of the case build-up against the suspects, who are expected to face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165).

Davao City Police Office Director Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria lauded the personnel of Police Station 15 for what he described as an outstanding accomplishment in the city’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

“The dedication, operational excellence, and commitment demonstrated by our personnel reflect the DCPO’s unwavering resolve to keep Davao City safe from the threats posed by illegal drugs,” Madria said.

He emphasized that the operation’s success was made possible through the strong collaboration among the police, barangay officials, the Davao City local government, and vigilant members of the community who continue to support law enforcement efforts.

Police said the latest accomplishment highlights the continuing effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and strengthened community partnerships in disrupting illegal drug activities within the city.

The DCPO reiterated its commitment to sustaining aggressive anti-illegal drug operations while encouraging the public to continue reporting suspicious activities to authorities, stressing that community participation remains a vital component in maintaining peace, order, and public safety throughout Davao City.
