JOLO, Sulu — Authorities confiscated illegally sold alcoholic beverages during a joint law enforcement operation in Barangay San Raymundo, Jolo, as local police and barangay officials intensified efforts to enforce municipal ordinances and maintain peace and public order in the community.

The operation was conducted by the Jolo Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the leadership of PLTCOL Kris Conrad Gutierrez, Officer-in-Charge, in close coordination with the officials of Barangay San Raymundo. The enforcement activity targeted the unauthorized sale of alcoholic beverages, which is prohibited under existing municipal regulations.
The operation was led on the ground by PB Kim Uddin under the supervision of Hon. Abdulhan Quisay, Chairperson of the Committee on Peace and Order, with the assistance of Kagawad Sharfa Hajani. Authorities confiscated several illegally sold alcoholic beverages from within the barangay during the operation.
Police said the enforcement action was carried out in strict implementation of Municipal Ordinance No. 5, Series of 2001, which prohibits the unauthorized sale of alcoholic beverages within the municipality. The ordinance forms part of local government efforts to regulate alcohol distribution and promote public safety.
Officials emphasized that the successful operation highlights the strong collaboration between the Jolo Municipal Police Station and the Barangay San Raymundo Local Government Unit in enforcing local laws, protecting public welfare, and preserving peace and order.
They added that sustained enforcement of municipal ordinances is essential in preventing activities that could disrupt community safety and undermine local governance.
The Barangay San Raymundo LGU also urged residents and business owners to comply with existing laws and municipal ordinances, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in building a safer, more disciplined, and law-abiding society.
Authorities said similar enforcement operations will continue as part of the municipality’s ongoing campaign to strengthen law enforcement, uphold public order, and ensure strict compliance with local regulations.
