The suspects were identified by police only through their aliases, “Aminah,” 51, and “Sodioda,” 72, both residents of the MSU Campus area in Barangay Dimalna.
According to the initial investigation conducted by the Marawi City Police Station (CPS), the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding involving one of the victims, Azan Manalocon Dimakuta, 22, who was repairing an air-conditioning unit in front of his residence when one of the suspects allegedly confronted him.

Authorities said Dimakuta’s wife, Aaleannah Dimakuta Macaraya, 23, and another resident, Habiba Bongcarawan Mangontong, 26, attempted to intervene and pacify the situation. However, the confrontation reportedly intensified when the second suspect arrived at the scene.
During the altercation, Aminah allegedly struck Dimakuta on the head with a bladed weapon, inflicting a serious injury. Meanwhile, Macaraya and Mangontong sustained minor injuries after they were allegedly assaulted by Sodioda.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m.
