PIKIT, North Cotabato — Two individuals were injured in a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday evening, June 20, 2026, in Sitio Proper, Barangay Batulawan, Pikit, North Cotabato.
Based on an initial report, the victims were identified only by their aliases, “Orak” and “Taru,” both of legal age and residents of the municipality.
Witnesses said the shooting took place along Manampan Street in Sitio Migkampong, Barangay Batulawan, near a highway. The victims, reportedly known in the area as residents of Purok Padao, were allegedly attacked by unidentified gunmen.
The victims sustained gunshot wounds and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have yet to disclose the extent of their injuries as of this writing.
Police officers responded to the scene shortly after the incident and have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the attack and identify the suspects responsible for the shooting.
