A 32-year-old man died Tuesday night after reportedly falling from the fourth floor of a hospital in the municipality of Midsayap, Cotabato, authorities confirmed.

The victim, identified only by the alias “Datu Boy,” was a resident of Barangay Kapinpilan in Kadayangan, part of the Special Geographic Area (SGA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). He was reportedly married and had been confined as a patient at the hospital prior to the incident.
According to the report from the Midsayap Municipal Police Station, police received a call from hospital personnel at around 8:55 p.m. on May 26 regarding the incident. Responding officers immediately proceeded to the hospital to verify the situation and conduct an initial investigation.
Authorities said the victim had been staying in a ward located on the hospital’s fourth floor. Initial findings revealed that while talking to his 16-year-old sibling inside the room, the victim allegedly became emotional and complained of difficulty breathing moments before he fell from a window of the building.
Hospital staff quickly rushed the victim to the emergency room in an effort to save his life. However, the attending physician later declared him dead due to severe injuries sustained from the fall.
Police said investigators are still determining the full circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether foul play or other factors may have contributed to the tragedy.
The incident has left relatives and residents in shock as authorities continue their investigation into what led to the fatal fall inside the hospital facility.
