A 68-year-old retired engineer was shot dead inside his own residence in a brazen daylight attack in Purok 5, Barangay Angas, Sta. Josefa, Agusan del Sur, late morning on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

The victim was identified as Rodolfo Malaran Fiel, a married resident of the area. According to initial police reports, the fatal shooting occurred at approximately 11:35 a.m., sending shockwaves through the otherwise quiet community.
Witnesses told authorities that two unidentified male suspects were involved in the attack. The assailants reportedly arrived on a red TMX motorcycle. One of the suspects was seen wearing a black jacket with a hood, while the other has yet to be clearly described.
