EL SALVADOR CITY, MISAMIS ORIENTAL — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast generally warm and humid weather conditions across Mindanao, with chances of isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms from April 24 to April 25, 2026, as easterlies continue to affect the region.

In its 5:00 AM regional weather bulletin for Mindanao issued on Thursday, April 24, PAGASA’s Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD) reported that a ridge of high pressure area extending over eastern Northern Luzon, combined with easterlies affecting the entire archipelago, is influencing current weather patterns.
Partly Cloudy to Cloudy Skies Across Mindanao
Most parts of Mindanao are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. While generally fair weather will dominate in many areas, localized thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon or evening, especially in upland and inland provinces.
PAGASA warned that during severe thunderstorms, moderate to heavy rainfall may trigger flash floods or landslides, particularly in flood-prone and mountainous areas.
Zamboanga Peninsula: Warm Temperatures with Thunderstorm Risks
The Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Temperatures will range between:
- 24°C to 34°C, depending on location and time of day.
Winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to southeast, with coastal waters remaining slight to moderate (0.6 to 1.5 meters), making sea travel generally safe but still requiring caution during sudden weather changes.
Northern Mindanao: Stable but Humid Conditions
Provinces such as Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will also experience similar weather conditions.
- Bukidnon: 18°C to 34°C (cooler mornings, warm afternoons)
- Coastal provinces: 25°C to 32°C range
Camiguin and coastal areas may also experience slight to moderate sea conditions, with light to moderate easterly winds.
Davao Region: Hot Afternoons with Localized Rain
The Davao Region, including Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental, will continue to experience warm to hot afternoons with scattered thunderstorms.
Temperatures may peak at:
- Up to 35°C in Davao del Norte
- Around 25°C to 34°C across the region
Residents are advised to remain alert for sudden downpours and possible lightning activity, particularly during late afternoons and evenings.
Advisory from PAGASA
PAGASA cautions the public against possible flash floods and landslides during heavy thunderstorms, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Fisherfolk and small sea vessels are also advised to exercise caution due to moderate sea conditions along eastern and western Mindanao coasts.
The agency continues to monitor weather developments closely and encourages the public to stay updated through official bulletins.
This forecast is issued by PAGASA’s Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD) under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), whose mandate is “Tracking the Sky… helping the country.”
For further updates, the public is advised to follow official PAGASA advisories through its regional offices and communication channels.
