EL SALVADOR CITY, Misamis Oriental — A gasoline station worker is now facing financial distress after a driver allegedly fled without paying a fuel bill totaling ₱7,340.18 in Barangay Sinaloc on Tuesday morning, April 7, 2026.

The incident took place at a gasoline station in Zone 3, where a routine refueling transaction turned into a costly ordeal. According to a Facebook post by netizen Jhon Lloyd Sistoso, an outgoing gas attendant identified as JL recounted that his co-worker, known by the alias “Junjun,” attended to a vehicle that requested a full tank.
JL said he was about to end his shift when Junjun completed the refueling. After filling the tank and securely closing the fuel cap, the driver suddenly sped off without paying, heading toward Iligan City.
The unpaid fuel cost reached ₱7,340.18, a substantial amount that Junjun may now be forced to personally shoulder—an all-too-common burden placed on gas station workers in cases of drive-offs.
The vehicle involved was reportedly bearing plate number NBN 5070, but authorities have yet to identify the driver.
The incident has drawn widespread concern online, especially after it was revealed that Junjun is supporting two young children. Netizens have expressed outrage and sympathy, urging the public to help identify the suspect and calling on the driver to come forward and settle the obligation.
In his post, Sistoso criticized the driver’s actions, describing the act as shameless and deliberate.
As of this writing, no official statement has been released by authorities, but efforts are ongoing to trace the vehicle and hold the individual accountable.
The case underscores the risks faced by frontline service workers, who often bear the financial consequences of such incidents despite having no control over customers’ actions.
