CARMEN, Cotabato — Police authorities swiftly arrested two suspects involved in a fatal shooting incident on Saturday morning, April 4, 2026, following a prompt dragnet operation in the municipality.
The suspects were identified as Guialudin Panait Mamalo and Ringgo Kasulutan Gindulungan, both of legal age and residents of Barangay Kilangan, Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur.
According to police reports, the victim, identified as Jerry Cadulong Ibad, 42, a resident of Pikit, Cotabato, was shot by the suspects under circumstances still under investigation. The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to gunshot wounds.
In response to the incident, operatives of the Carmen Municipal Police Station launched a dragnet operation that led to the immediate apprehension of the suspects. Recovered from their possession were two .45 caliber pistols believed to have been used in the crime, along with several sachets of suspected shabu.

Authorities stressed that the successful operation sends a strong message that law enforcement will not tolerate any form of armed violence in Carmen and across the province of Cotabato.
The suspects are now under police custody and are facing possible charges for murder, illegal possession of firearms, and violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, pending further investigation.
