MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur – A coordinated anti-illegal drug operation by law enforcement authorities resulted in the arrest of a female High-Value Individual (HVI) and the confiscation of suspected shabu worth ₱168,912.00 during a buy-bust operation on March 24, 2026, in Barangay Raya Saduc.

The operation was carried out by the Marawi City Police Station, with support from the Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Ganassi Municipal Police Station. Authorities identified the suspect as a high-value target in the region’s ongoing anti-drug campaign.

According to police reports, the buy-bust operation was conducted at the suspect’s residence, where she allegedly sold a quantity of suspected shabu to an undercover operative. The suspect was immediately apprehended after the transaction was completed, signaling the successful execution of the operation.

Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were approximately 24.84 grams of suspected shabu. This included one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet weighing 23 grams with an estimated value of ₱156,400.00, identified as the buy-bust item. Authorities also recovered twelve smaller sachets containing a combined weight of 1.84 grams valued at ₱12,512.00.

In addition to the illegal drugs, operatives seized marked buy-bust money and several drug paraphernalia, including a black sling bag, a digital weighing scale, a pair of scissors, and a small green plastic box believed to have been used in the packaging and distribution of illegal substances.

The arrested suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was taken into custody and brought to the Marawi City Police Station for documentation and proper disposition. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 are currently being prepared against her.

Caezar P. Cabuhat, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to sustaining aggressive anti-drug operations.

“We will continue to intensify our efforts to eradicate the proliferation of illegal drugs and ensure that those involved are held accountable under the law,” Cabuhat said.

Authorities emphasized that the operation reflects strengthened coordination among police units in Lanao del Sur and underscored their ongoing commitment to curbing illegal drug activities in the province.
