MARAWI CITY — A joint anti-drug operation by the Marawi City Police Station/City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and the Regional Intelligence Unit-15 (RIU-15) led to the arrest of a drug suspect and the confiscation of shabu valued at Php 641,920.00 on Thursday evening, September 4, in Barangay Emie Punud.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Amron,” was apprehended after selling illegal drugs to an undercover agent during the buy-bust operation. Authorities seized one knot-tied transparent plastic bag containing 94.40 grams of suspected shabu, along with the marked money used in the transaction.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Marawi CPS for documentation and booking. He will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PCOL Caezar P. Cabuhat, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, lauded the operating units for their successful operation. He assured the public that the police remain steadfast in their campaign against illegal drugs in the province.

“The LDS PPO will remain relentless in its efforts to eradicate illegal drugs in Lanao del Sur,” Cabuhat said.
