MARAWI CITY — Two men were arrested in a high-impact drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Kilala on Thursday, November 13, 2025, yielding an estimated ₱1.7 million worth of illegal drugs.

The operation was carried out by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Marawi City Police Station under PCPT Macabantog Batao, and supervised by PLTCOL Muhiddin Pagayawan. They were assisted by the Provincial Intelligence Unit, the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, and the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit.

Authorities said the suspects, known by their aliases “Junada” and “Jalal,” both residents of Barangay Madanding, Maguing, Lanao del Sur, sold illegal drugs to operatives during the sting, leading to their immediate arrest.

Confiscated from the operation were approximately 250 grams of suspected illegal drugs valued at ₱1.7 million. Also recovered were the buy-bust money, a bundle of boodle money with one genuine ₱1,000 bill, a driver’s license, a vehicle registration, a key, and a Toyota Vios used during the transaction.

The suspects are now detained at the Marawi City Police Station as authorities prepare charges for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The inventory of seized evidence was witnessed by representatives from BNB News and Public Affairs, a barangay elected official, and Department of Justice representative Hon. Aquino Comadug, ensuring full transparency in the operation.

Police officials reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying anti-drug efforts across Lanao del Sur, emphasizing that operations will continue without letup.
