PANDAG, Philippines — An unidentified man was shot dead and found lying beside his motorcycle on Sunday afternoon, February 15, in Sitio Mamalinta, Barangay Kayaga, in the municipality of Pandag, Maguindanao del Sur.

Residents discovered the victim’s body in Sitio Mamalinta, Barangay Kayaga, after reportedly hearing gunshots in the area earlier in the afternoon. Authorities said the man sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was already lifeless when responders arrived.

Police confirmed that the victim was not carrying any identification card, making it difficult to immediately determine his identity and background. Investigators are now coordinating with local officials and nearby communities to help establish who the victim is.

The scene was secured as authorities conducted an initial investigation and collected possible evidence. Witnesses are being interviewed to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to identify possible suspects.

“The motive and the perpetrators behind the attack are still being determined,” a police official said, adding that follow-up operations are ongoing.

The victim’s body was brought to a funeral facility for proper examination, while authorities appealed to the public to report any information that could help solve the case.

Local officials assured residents that security measures will be strengthened to prevent similar incidents and to maintain peace and order in the area.
