ZAMBOANGA CITY — Residents of Barangay Campo Islam were gripped by fear after a still-unidentified individual was shot in broad daylight at around 11 a.m. on Monday, authorities said.
Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect suddenly opened fire following a brief confrontation with the victim. The wounded individual was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. As of this writing, the victim’s identity and medical condition have not been officially disclosed.
After the shooting, the suspect fled toward Marlboro Drive and remained at large, prompting a police manhunt in nearby areas. Investigators said the motive behind the attack is still unclear, and no arrests have been made so far.
