DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur — A female delivery rider was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight while waiting for a customer along Lapu-Lapu Extension, Barangay San Miguel, Digos City, on Friday afternoon, January 9, 2026.
The victim, identified only by her alias “Zen,” was preparing to hand over a parcel to a client at around 2:46 PM when two suspects riding a motorcycle suddenly approached her. According to video footage captured by a witness, Zaharaya Eliana, the suspects threatened the delivery rider with a firearm, leaving her no chance to resist.
The assailants reportedly took around ₱12,000 in cash, which the victim had collected from previous deliveries. After grabbing the money, the suspects quickly fled the scene on their motorcycle as if nothing had happened.
The incident has raised alarm among delivery riders and residents in the area, as it happened in a busy neighborhood and in full view of passersby.
Police authorities confirmed that they have already responded to the incident. However, as of this writing, the Digos City Police Station has not released any information on whether the suspects have been identified or arrested.
An investigation is ongoing, and authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and witness accounts to track down the perpetrators.
The police also reminded the public, especially delivery riders and online sellers, to remain vigilant, avoid isolated areas when making transactions, and immediately report any suspicious activity to authorities.
