DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur — Police operatives arrested four suspected drug personalities and seized more than ₱80,000 worth of illegal drugs during a joint buy-bust operation shortly after midnight on December 23, authorities said.

The operation was spearheaded by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Digos City Police Station, in coordination with other law enforcement units in Davao del Sur. The sting operation was carried out at around 12:00 a.m. as part of intensified efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the city.

Those arrested were identified only by their aliases: “Tsik,” 41, a painter; “Noy,” 24; “Jan,” 22; and “Win,” 43—all residents of Digos City. Police said the suspects were caught in the act of selling suspected shabu to an undercover operative.

Confiscated from the suspects were sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱80,580, along with marked money and other drug paraphernalia. The seized items were properly inventoried and turned over for forensic examination.

The suspects are now in police custody and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Authorities reiterated their commitment to sustain anti-illegal drug operations and urged the public to continue cooperating by reporting drug-related activities in their communities.
