PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte — Police operatives from the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO) successfully arrested a High-Value Individual (HVI) identified as alias “Aton”, 38, a resident of Kanari Homes, Purok 16, Barangay New Visayas, during a joint buy-bust operation at around 11:20 p.m. on November 1, 2025.
The anti-drug operation was carried out by the Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PIU/PDEU) under the supervision of PLTCOL Jeffrey Latayada, in coordination with the Panabo City Police Station led by PLTCOL Dexter R. Cuevas, ACOP.
Authorities seized 11.1 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price value of ₱75,480.00. The suspect, listed as the Top 3 Provincial-Level High-Value Individual in Davao del Norte, has been under long-term police monitoring due to alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.
In a statement, PCOL Glenn G. Cristines, Provincial Director of DNPPO, lauded the dedication of his personnel despite the All Saints’ Day observance.
“Even during Undas, our police force did not stop serving the people. This operation reflects the sacrifice and dedication of our officers who continue to fight illegal drugs even on days of rest. The DNPPO remains steadfast in safeguarding peace and order in Davao del Norte,” Cristines said.
The arrested suspect is now under police custody, facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).
